In this performance, I have programmed a FCB 1010 MIDI Foot Controller, through MAX MSP, to record live improvised layers with my cello and control the recordings with multiple effects.
Pedals 1-4 were programmed to record in live performance and when pressed again, play the recording. Each of the pedals gave me the space to layer four different loops.Pedals 6-9 were programmed to stop the recordings of loops. Pedal 5 was used to turn on and off the delay and reverb effects. The two expression pedals were used to control the pitch shift/harmonizer effect and the volume of the recorded loops.
I performed this piece using a 8-channel surround sound system but in stereo sound. This was a project for my minor in Applied Music Technology at The University of British Columbia.
